The idea for West Plains Discount Center and Salvage
Grocery began in the Spring of 2011 by owners Jim and Charlotte Bennett.
Although the doors did not open until September 1, 2011, the work began
much earlier. The first purchase of inventory came by way of a store
closing in Rogersville, MO, which was soon followed by other finds here
and there around the area and as far away as Mississippi. Slowly but
surely merchandise, both new and salvage, began to fill the shelves.
After lots of hard work and plenty of man (and woman) hours the store
was ready to open. Since that time we have grown to include lots of
grocery items, health and beauty aids, housewares, laundry needs and
over-the-counter medicines. Most recently our changes have been in
opening a new area which contains our meat and dairy items. We have a 5
for $25 freezer as well as fresh milk, eggs, meat and cheeses. WPCD is
now in it's 3rd year and still going and growing. We do appreciate and
depend on all our past and present customers to whom we owe our success.
